Cozumel Choice Excursions – Our Company:

Cozumel Choice is the company founded by the brothers David and Juan Villagómez (from the popular David Tours in Costa Maya!) that share a big passion for the Mayan culture, history and for nature.

We are proud to prove that we are not a group of improvised people selling tours for somebody else. We are behind the scenes and on stage to exceed your expectations of any tour.
We are the ones behind our sales, we are the ones responding your emails, we check-in our clients and we guide our groups. This allows us to have full control over the quality of all our excursions.
The best part is that we are locals, and by locals we do not mean that business opportunities brought us here from somewhere else, we mean that we were born, grew up, live in and love the region! Name: David Villagómez
Position: Tour Director

Born in Chacchoben village in 1967. Twenty-two years working as a tour guide. Expert in Flora & Fauna, Mayan Religion, Art & Culture. David Villagómez has been a tour guide for over 20 years and is an expert in the flora and fauna of the region. His knowledge of medicinal plants comes from his grandmother, who served as the midwife in Chacchoben Village, two hours south of Tulum. Since his early childhood he has been in contact with the Mayan world, born to a mixed Mexican-Spanish family he learned to integrate medicine and trade. As a child he used to play at the Mayan sacred mountains that now visits with his clients. He lived in Tulum at the time the archeological site was being excavated and became personal friends with the reputed archeologist Mr. Leira.

Juan Villagómez has served as a tour guide in Mayan archeological sites for over 15 years. His childhood at the Chacchoben village allowed him to live in direct contact with nature, absorb local legends and ancient knowledge. Since his early days he learnt traditional medicine and the traditions of the Yucaket world in Merida and colonial cities.
Today he embodies a perfect blend of two worlds: modern and ancient, Mayan and Spanish culture, formal education and life experiences in a Mayan context. Together with his brother David is the second generation of tour guides after his father, one of the first guides at the archeological ruins of Tulum and Chichén Itza.
